Week of Remembrance: Armenian Film Society Presents Q&A with Inna Sahakyan

Join us on Wednesday, April 19 for a conversation with Inna Sahakyan on the craft of Aurora's Sunrise, Armenia's submission to the 2023 Academy Awards, at the Glendale Central Library Auditorium.

Free admission. RSVPs required. Seating is first come, first served.

This event is presented during the City of Glendale's Week of Remembrance for the Armenian Genocide, and as part of 100 Years of Armenian Cinema. April 16, 2023 marks 100 Years of Armenian Cinema. The cinema of Armenia was established on 16 April 1923, when the Armenian State Committee of Cinema was established by government decree.

Aurora's Sunrise is an animated documentary film directed by Inna Sahakyan. The film is based on the life of Aurora Mardiganian, an Armenian Genocide survivor who, after her escape, became an actress in the United States after starring in the silent film Auction of Souls (Ravished Armenia). T he event will include clips and stills from the film, and an in-depth discussion about the craft of making the film.
