The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), enacted July 26, 1990, provides protection to individuals with disabilities. Under the act, persons with disabilities are protected from discrimination in the areas of transportation, government and business access, employment, education, and employment.

In addition to the core services that are available at no cost to everyone, Verdugo Jobs Center (VJC) is a friendly resourceful place for people with disabilities (PWD,) because VJC has adequate assistive technology which allows PWD to search for jobs. Furthermore, a resource folder with information on organizations, websites, and directories for PWD is available upon request.
