Crisis in Artsakh

In the spirit of human compassion, the Glendale City Council invites you to make a difference in the lives of 120,000 Armenians including 30,000 children, 20,000 seniors, and 9,000 persons with disabilities who are being denied access to basic human needs. This situation began with Azerbaijan blocking the Lachin Corridor, the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) to Armenia. Since December 2022, this harmful act has left people in Artsakh without access to water, food, medical supplies and services, gas and electricity.

City Council Response

Due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, at its August 29th meeting, the Glendale City Council voted and approved sending aid to those impacted. This action follows an August 10th request made by the Office of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic in the USA seeking the City’s assistance to help Glendale's Sister City, Martuni.
