With continuous daily high temperatures and little opportunity for evening cooling, increased HVAC usage can create strain on the power grid and increase the potential for power outages.

A Peak Day Alert is an urgent call to Glendale residents via phone or e-mail to immediately conserve electricity and to shift demand to off-peak hours (after 9 p.m.). When it’s unusually hot outside, the electricity needed to cool our homes puts a strain on the grid, which can lead to power outages. By taking simple steps to lower your electricity use you’ll help keep everyone's electricity going!

Being water conscious in and around our homes, businesses, schools and landscapes is part of our So Cal way of life. We’ve been lucky enough to get rain in Glendale lately, but that doesn’t mean the water supply shortage is over. GWP will remain in Phase III of the Mandatory Water Conservation Ordinance, which limits outside watering to two days a week: Tuesday’s and Saturday’s for no more than 10 minutes at each watering station.
