IRP Townhall Meeting

Glendale Water & Power’s Integrated Resource Plan Development & First Townhall Meeting

Join Us to Help Shape Glendale’s Energy Future

Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is developing its 2024 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), which is a long-term blueprint for the utility to continue providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable power for the residents and businesses of Glendale. The IRP serves as a roadmap for the City’s energy system that will determine where Glendale gets its power, what its mix of renewable and green energy will be, and how much it will cost to obtain and supply that energy mix.  Part of the IRP development process involves engaging the community through multiple townhall meetings to collect feedback on various strategies to meet Glendale’s future energy needs.

Customers can visit www.GlendaleCA.gov/2024IRP to obtain information about the IRP development process and information about upcoming IRP townhall meetings and to sign-up to receive IRP-related information. The first IRP townhall meeting will take place on Thursday, June 29, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Pacific Edison Community Center Gymnasium, 501 S. Pacific Ave. 91204. There will be a total of four townhall meetings between June – October, and residents are encouraged to attend each townhall meeting since each will focus on different topics related to the IRP. Future meeting dates will be posted on the IRP website.

GWP will also establish a Stakeholder Technical Advisory Group (STAG) that will represent a diverse set of Glendale residential and business customers that will play a critical role in helping GWP develop community-informed strategies to meet Glendale’s energy needs and clean energy mandates. GWP’s IRP consultants, Ascend Analytics and Strategen Consulting, will select members for the STAG. All interested customers can apply to be part of the STAG between now and Tuesday, July 4. The application and information are available at the IRP website at www.GlendaleCA.gov/2024IRP
