Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries

(Glendale, CA) Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 2:00 a.m.

The Glendale Fire Department would like to encourage residents and business owners to change the batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and flashlights when changing their clocks. It is important to test the alarms whether battery operated or hard wired to ensure they are working properly. Replace the alarms immediately if they are not working. Almost two-thirds of home fire deaths result from fires in homes with no working smoke alarms. Eighty percent of child fire fatalities occur in homes without working smoke alarms.

The mission of the Glendale Fire Department is to protect life and property by providing the highest level of service to the community.  For more information about the Glendale Fire Department, go to www.glendalefire.org.
