Library, Arts & Culture Performance Series

Glendale, CA - In March 2015, the Arts & Culture Commission issued a call for artists requesting proposals from performance artists and organizations, and received a total of 46 submissions.  In April, the selection committee consisting of Arts & Culture Commission Chairperson Arlette DerHovanessian, Brand Library & Art Center staff, and Arts & Culture staff, reviewed the submissions and selected thirteen musical groups and performers for a summer performance series on the plaza at Brand Library & Art Center. The committee selected new and established artists and performance groups in diverse genres including classical, jazz, rock and world music.

The performances at the Brand Library & Art Center are scheduled for Friday evenings in June, July, and August. Performances will run 60 and 90 minutes without intermission and will be available to the general public, free of charge. Six of the performances are funded by the Urban Art Fund with the remainder supported by the Brand Associates.
