Post Date:07/09/2015 4:24 PM

For Immediate Release

Tahnee Lightfoot, Public Information Officer

The 32nd Annual National Night Out (NNO) will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  National Night Out is a community-driven event to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation with local anti-crime efforts and strengthen neighborhood spirit.

The Glendale Police Department partners with event hosts to coordinate and plan the events.  While the traditional “lights on” and front porch vigils remain a part of National Night Out, activities have expanded to include block parties, pot lucks, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities, parades, and safety tips.

The Glendale Police Department, the Glendale Fire Department, members of the Glendale City Council and City officials will visit these events to hear concerns, ideas, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety of their neighborhoods.

Last year, 40 events were held in the City of Glendale and we would like to have an even larger participation in 2015!

National Night Out 2014 involved over 38.1 million people in 16,540 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

If you are interested in hosting an event, please visit our event website at www.glendalenno.com or call (818) 548-4015.
