Attempted Murder Charges Filed on Robbery Suspect

On August 6, 2015, felony charges were filed against Robert Elias Taylor in connection with a robbery.

On August 5, 2015, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of South Glendale Avenue regarding a robbery involving a 53 year old female Glendale resident. The victim was confronted by an African-American male while walking down the street and struck over the head with an object. The victim lost consciousness for a short time and when she regained consciousness, she realized her purse had been taken.

The victim was taken to Glendale Memorial Hospital and treated for a severe head injury.

While checking the area in Glendale, an officer located a suspect matching the description and attempted to stop the vehicle.  A pursuit ensued and ended on Avenue 33 in the City of Los Angeles. The suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee from officers. The suspect was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

The victim’s wallet and a loaded handgun were located at the scene.

The suspect was identified as 30 year old Robert Elias Taylor (DOB: 8/11/84) of Canyon Country.

Taylor was positively identified by the victim as the suspect involved in the robbery.

On August 6, 2015, the case was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges:

  1. 664/187(a) PC - Attempted Willful, Deliberate, and Premeditated Murder – with a firearm causing great bodily injury
  2. 211 PC – Second Degree Robbery – with a firearm causing great bodily injury
  3. 29800(a)(1) PC – Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  4. 30305(a)(1) PC – Possession of Ammunition by a Felon
  5. 2800.2 CVC – Fleeing a Pursuing Peace Officer while Driving Recklessly
  6. 496(a) PC – Receiving Stolen Property
