UPDATE:  On August 11, 2015, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed one count of misdemeanor trespassing and one count of misdemeanor prowling.

On August 9, 2015, at approximately 2:31 p.m., the Glendale Police Department responded to the Equinox gym located at 207 Goode Avenue regarding a male detained for attempting to gain access to the women’s locker room.

The investigation revealed, the suspect, identified as 27 year old Manuel Alejandro Martinez (DOB: 01/30/88) of North Hollywood, entered the business, removed a ceiling tile and climbed into the ceiling of the gym.  Martinez made his way across the structure to the female locker room that contained a restroom and showers.  A female employee cleaning the restroom was alerted to noises in the ceiling and observed Martinez removing the ventilation tile and enter the restroom.  The victim screamed and ran as the male gave chase into the women’s locker room.  Two male employees heard the victim screaming and detained Martinez until police arrived.

Officers confirmed Martinez was not a member and he did not have a lawful reason for being at the gym.

Martinez was placed under arrest and booked for burglary, unlawful peeking and a misdemeanor warrant.
