Tahnee Lightfoot, Public Information Officer

The Glendale Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in an unsolved hit and run accident.

On September 18, 2014 at approximately 12:55 pm, officers responded to a traffic accident at Broadway and Columbus Avenue. A female pedestrian was walking westbound on the south side of Broadway and began to cross to Columbus Avenue. A small, black four door sedan was driving northbound on Columbus Avenue and proceeded to make a right turn onto Broadway. As the vehicle negotiated its turn, the front driver’s side of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing her to fall to the ground.

The vehicle is described as possibly a black C-Class Mercedes or BMW driven by an 18-24 year old female. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene and fled eastbound on Broadway.

The 80 year old female Glendale resident, Lousine Ghazarian, suffered a laceration to her right knee, a contusion to her right elbow and complained of pain to her right foot. Lousine Ghazarian was treated and transported by Glendale Fire Department to Los Angeles County USC Hospital for precautionary reasons for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information relating to this accident is encouraged to call the Glendale Police Department Traffic Bureau at 818-548-3131. Callers may remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
