Computer Club for Beginners -- Sign Up Now!

GLENDALE, CA  - 

The Computer Club for Beginners is a series of comfortably-paced training workshops held at the Glendale Central Library Learning Center Lab, 222 East Harvard Street, Glendale CA 91205, for adults with little or no computer experience. Students are introduced to mouse and keyboard, Microsoft Windows, basic word processing, Internet searching, Email, and tips for selecting a home computer. The Computer Club will meet from 9 –11 am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for four weeks, October 6 - 29.

Class sessions cover the following subjects:

  • Week 1 – Introducing the computer, the mouse and the keyboard.  Learning how to operate the computer using its basic software, Microsoft Windows.
  • Week 2 – Exploring the Internet and how to use skills and tools to find information on the Internet.
  • Week 3 – Using email and communicating with others using free and easy email accounts.
  • Final Week – More on Internet use. How to buy a computer, how to avoid computer viruses and other problems; and a graduation party.

Computer Club for Beginners workshops are limited to sixteen students so that each student can have hands-on experience. Visit the Central Library Reference Desk during September and reserve a seat. To register by phone call the Central Library at 818-548-2021 from 2:30 – 8 pm, Monday – Thursday, or 9 am – 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday.
