Earth Day 2016 to Celebrate Sustainability Through Education and Entertainment

Glendale, CA - The City of Glendale will be hosting Earth Day 2016 on Saturday, April 30th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Central Park. Dedicated to the advocacy of a sustainable, greener lifestyle, the event will feature education, entertainment, food trucks, and prizes. Attendees will learn about California-friendly gardening techniques, zero waste best practices, solar energy innovations, and other ways to lessen their environmental footprint.

Earth Day 2016 will consist of the following workshops and activities:

  • Native Plant Workshop
  • Vegan Food Demo
  • Climbing Wall
  • Blender Bikes
  • Bucket Truck Rides
  • Solar Etching
  • Live Music by Singer/ Songwriter Chenza Puno and Rock / Blues Group Leggy Peggy
  • Interactive Games

Earth Day 2016 partners include Glendale Arts, Theodore Payne Foundation, Solar Schoolhouse, and Ordinary Vegan. Attendees will have the opportunity to order food and beverage items from the Border Grill Truck, The Lobos Truck, and Recess Ice Cream.

Central Park is located at 201 E. Colorado St., Glendale, CA 91205.

Parking is available at the Marketplace parking structure. The first 3 hours are FREE with validation from the Central Library or at the Adult Recreation Center.
