National Night Out 2016

The 33rd Annual National Night Out will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. National Night Out is a community-driven event where neighbors get to know each other and share concerns, strategies and ideas for safer communities.

National Night Out 2015 involved over 38.3 million people in over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

The Glendale Police Department partners with event hosts to coordinate and plan the events.  While the traditional “lights on” and front porch vigils remain a part of National Night Out, activities have expanded to include block parties, pot lucks, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities, parades, and safety tips.

The Glendale Police Department, the Glendale Fire Department, members of the Glendale City Council and City officials will visit these events to hear concerns, ideas, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety of their neighborhoods.

Last year, 42 events were held in the City of Glendale and we would like to have an even larger participation in 2016!  You do not have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone!
