Glendale Tech on Tap: Anatomy of Fake News and the Impact on Your Brand

GLENDALE, CA – Enjoy what’s on tap and meet City of Glendale Director of Communications & Community Relations Tom Lorenz, as he talks about the “Anatomy of Fake News and the Impact on Your Brand.” It will be highlighting the rise and consequences of Fake News, and what it could mean for the public perception of your organization’s brand moving forward. It will also delve into countermeasures to stop Fake News in its tracks.  The Tech on Tap talk takes place Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Moose Den, 156 South Brand Boulevard, Glendale, CA. Event is free but space is limited, RSVP.

ABOUT TOM LORENZ: Tom Lorenz has served the City of Glendale for 32 years. He is a 30 year law enforcement veteran. In January of 2011, while serving as the Adjutant to the Chief of Police, he was moved into a dual role as the Public Information Officer for the City of Glendale to support all City Departments in communications. In August of 2014, Tom was appointed Director of Communications & Community Relations. Tom oversees the City's community outreach through the Creative Media and Digital Innovation sections that include the award-winning GTV6, winner of seven Emmy's.  Through collaborative efforts, Tom and his staff have moved towards greater community partnerships and civic engagement through increased information accessibility, events, and digital presence across many platforms.

EVENT DETAILS:  Light happy hour snacks will be provided. No host bar. Brief presentation, long post reception. Thirty minute talk starts at 5:30. Casual environment with good company and great conversation!

ABOUT TECH ON TAP: Glendale Tech on Tap is a monthly meet-up created to strengthen the ecosystem of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship in Glendale. You can raise a glass to tech the second Wednesday of each month at the Moose Den from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
