Spring Eggstravaganza and Earth Day

Glendale, CA – The City of Glendale will be hosting two annual events together on Saturday, April 15th at Pacific Park. There will be plenty of kids’ activities including a climbing wall, face painting, carnival games, arts & crafts, and a jumper to make for a fun, family outing.

Spring Eggstravaganza will be held from 10:00am – 12:00pm offering a fun morning of egg hunts and an appearance from the Easter Bunny. For more information, or call 818-548-4098.

After the egg hunt, stick around to celebrate Earth Day from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Attendees will learn about water conservation, zero waste best practices, solar energy innovations, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and other ways to reduce their environmental footprint. This year’s partners include Glendale Arts, Solar Schoolhouse, Athens Service, LA Conservation Corps, and Mattress Recycling Council.

Earth Day activities consist of:

  • Raffles
  • Live Music by Herbert Hoover’s Jazz Band / Vocalist Arielle Deem
  • Interactive Games
  • Solar & Electric Exploration
  • Rain Water Harvesting & Water Conservation Tips
  • Traffic Safety Instruction
  • How To Fix a Flat Tire
  • Blender Bikes

Rain Barrel Intl. will be educating attendees on how to conserve water and will be distributing pre-ordered rain barrels. Pre-order a rain barrel for your home here.

Courtesy of LA Conservation Corps and the Mattress Recycling Council, e-waste and mattress recycling collection will be held on Kenilworth Avenue off of Riverdale Drive from 8:30am – 1:30pm. Dispose of your items in a socially and ecologically responsible way.

  • Desktop & laptop computers
  • LCD monitors & TVs
  • MP3 players
  • GPS systems
  • Camcorders
  • Smartphones
  • PDAs & cell phones
  • CRT & monitors
  • Mattresses

Also available on Kenilworth Avenue will be compost giveaways from Athens Service. Bring a bucket with you to pick up free compost material for your home.
