City of Glendale Offices Closed for Memorial Day

Glendale, CA – Glendale City Hall and City offices will be closed Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day, a national holiday which memorializes the men and women of the armed forces who gave their lives in the line of duty. While city offices will be closed, local organizations will be hosting multiple events in honor of veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Glendale City Council and Glendale Housing Authority meetings set to take place on May 30th will be cancelled in observance. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council will be held on June 6, 2017.

The Glendale Fire and Police departments will continue to be staffed for all patrol, jail, fire, paramedic and other emergency services during Memorial Day. For any life threatening emergencies, always remember to call 9-1-1.

Glendale Water and Power (GWP) offices will be closed. In the case of electric and water emergencies, or to report a power outage, residents can call (818) 548-2011. GWP customers can still log into their account and pay their bills online at https://www.glendaleca.gov/government/departments/glendale-water-and-power. However, the GWP Customer Service and Billing offices will be closed.

All refuse and recycling services will continue as normal during the week. Though service will continue, the Integrated Waste Management offices will be closed.

All Glendale Public Library sites will be closed starting Saturday, May 27th and will remain closed through Memorial Day on Monday, May 29th. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, May 30th.

Parks will remain open during normal hours. However, recreation and community centers and meals programs for the elderly will be closed.

Although City offices will be closed on Memorial Day, residents are encouraged to reflect on the sacrifice so many men and women have made in service to the United States.
