Glendale Tech On Tap: Opportunistic Entrepreneurship: Saying Yes to Dumb Luck

GLENDALE, CA – The ability to create, launch, and run your own business has never been easier, with tools and resources at your disposal. However, how do you cultivate those opportunities, and how do you even find them to begin with? An entrepreneur's strength lies not only in their ability to believe in the dream before anyone else, but to find them in their infancy and cultivate them.

Hear from serial entrepreneurs, Jared Glatter and William Schwing on Wednesday, August 9th for a free Tech On Tap talk at The Moose Den, 156 S. Brand Blvd, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The duo will reveal the habits, tools, and trends they use to find new opportunities, methods for evaluating the potential of those opportunities, and how to grow them into something real. The event is free but space is limited, RSVP here.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: Jared Glatter and Will Schwing met when they were both attending college in Santa Barbara, Ca. Studying Business and Marketing, their first venture gained public notoriety when they won a business plan competition and received more than $100,000 in promissory funding, all before graduating. They have since gone on to research, strategize, plot, plan, scheme, and launch a number of other ventures, both for themselves and for others. In 2015 they launched a men's leather footwear company, Tawny Goods with a Kickstarter campaign, receiving more than 230% of its necessary funding.

Most recently, they won a grant from cognac maker Remy Martin, to compete in one of the nation’s oldest festivals. The subject of that competition? Fried chicken.

EVENT DETAILS:  Light happy hour snacks will be provided. No host bar. Brief presentation, long post reception. Thirty minute talk starts at 5:30 p.m. Casual environment with good company and great conversation!

VENUE: The Moose Den is a chill sports-centric subterranean haunt with burgers and more, plus shuffleboard, darts and other games. Address is 156 S. Brand Blvd.

PARKING: 90 minute free parking available at the Marketplace Parking Structure at 120 South Maryland Avenue.
