Glendale City Council Launches Hurricane Relief Page
Glendale, CA – On Tuesday, September 12th, Glendale’s City Council launched a new webpage to help support victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma on their long road to recovery. The site provides direct links to charities serving the areas affected by the hurricanes, and encourages residents to continue the momentum of compassion and generosity shown in the wake of the La Tuna Fire.
“Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma forced tens of thousands of people out of their homes, and it is our duty as global partners and fellow Americans to lend a helping hand,” the website states. “If every one of Glendale’s 200,000 residents donated $1 to the recovery effort, non-profits like Feeding Texas could provide up to 80,000 hot meals to those in need.” The figure references local meal cost estimates provided by Feeding Texas, an Austin non-profit.
