Glendale Water & Power Hosts Japan’s Chubu Electric Power Company

GLENDALE, California – Glendale Water & Power (GWP) hosted the Chubu Electric Power Company (CEPCO) from Japan on September 21, 2017 at Glendale Water & Power’s administrative offices. CEPCO invests, constructs and operates power networks in the Chubu region of Japan’s main island. The Chubu region is one of Japan’s leading manufacturing regions consisting of many world class Japanese industries. CEPCO visited GWP and met with met with various members of GWP’s Automated Infrastructure Implementation (AMI) team to get a better understanding of the deployment of the digital meters and see the processes used by a utility that simultaneously installed electric and water digital meters.

“It is an honor for GWP to host a utility as large as CEPCP that serves over 16 million customers, and is interested in learning about GWP’s successful Automated Meter Infrastructure implementation,” said Glendale Water & Power’s General Manager, Stephen Zurn.
