South Glendale Community Plan Meeting

Glendale, CA – The City of Glendale’s Planning Commission and Transportation & Parking Commission are hosting a joint public hearing of the South Glendale Community Plan (SGCP) on March 7, 2018. Residents are encouraged to comment on the Plan, and the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) that accompanies it. Both documents are available for public review on the City’s website at Glendaleca.gov/SGCP.

“The Plan constitutes the City’s goals and policies for stewardship of the places and people that make up South Glendale,” the SGCP states. “[It] is intended to shape positive community change and foster sustainable land use patterns, while balancing the unique character of the community with citywide policies and regional initiatives.”

The SGCP has been in the making since 2013, and will be the official guide to Glendale development south of the 134 Freeway – including the Downtown Specific Plan.

In accordance with CEQA regulations, the DEIR details any significant impacts the plan might have, and, if possible, how the City will mitigate them. Glendale will keep the DEIR open for comment until March 12, 2018. As an alternative to commenting at the March 7th public hearing, residents are encouraged to submit their comments online or by mail to the Community Development Department  Attn: Laura Stotler or Erik Krause, 633 E. Broadway, Room 103, Glendale, CA 91206.  For more information on the SGCP or DEIR, please contact Laura Stotler at LStotler@glendaleca.gov or (818) 937-8158.
