Annual Commemorative Events
Sponsored by City Of Glendale
Glendale, CA - The Man’s Inhumanity to Man Annual Event is sponsoring The Night of Poetry competition this year. The purpose of the contest is to engage a discussion on the various inhumane events that have taken place yesterday and today with the hope of avoiding and preventing them tomorrow. The contest is open to youth living, going to school, or working in Glendale. Winning entries will be reading their poetry on Tuesday, April 22 at 6:00 pm at the Parcher Plaza, 613 East Broadway - between City Hall and the Municipal Services Buildings.
Entries must be all typed and double spaced, and should be no longer than two pages. Submitted poetry should focus on the strength of the human spirit when facing oppression. The submission deadline is on April 11 at 5 pm. Writers whose submissions are accepted for reading at The Night of Poetry will be notified on April 14.
