Glendale, CA: On June 22, 2019, the Glendale Police Department arrested 41 year old Gary Quick for Arson.

On June 22, 2019, at 1:40 p.m., the Glendale Police Department responded to the 3600 block of La Crescenta regarding a brush fire that was started by a male “transient.” The witness provided the communications division a detailed description of the male as police units responded to the scene.

An officer searching the area located the male and detained him pending further investigation.

The investigation revealed the fire was started by Gary Quick after he discarded a lit match into a dense brush area off of La Crescenta Avenue. Clothing belonging to Quick was recovered at the scene.

The fire burned approximately 6,000 – 10,000 square feet and was quickly extinguished by the Glendale Fire Department. Due to the nature of the fire and proximity to homes, seven fire trucks from Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene. There was no damage to nearby homes.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Gary Quick was placed under arrest for recklessly setting a fire to land/property (452(c) PC).

The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
