Males Arrested In Possession Of Loaded Firearm And Illegal Drugs For Sale
Glendale, CA: On 7/10/20, at 5:45 p.m., officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Detail (SED) were patrolling in the area of San Fernando Rd and Chevy Chase Dr when they noticed a vehicle drive past them with Nevada state license plates. As the vehicle passed the officers, they noticed the front passenger, later identified as 20-year-old Dominick Diaz of Las Vegas, was holding an inflated yellow balloon inches from his mouth.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Diaz was asked to exit the vehicle and as he did so, officers noticed a large air tank on the front passenger floorboard. Upon a search of Diaz, officers located a handgun in his front pocket along with a bag containing numerous balloons. The handgun was found to be loaded with an illegal large capacity magazine containing and was discovered to be unregistered.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed over 180 Xanax pills and crushed Xanax pills that Diaz claimed were his. 19-year-old Carlos Gonzalez, one of the passengers in the vehicle, admitted that the air tank belonged to him.

Dominick Diaz was subsequently arrested and booked for carrying a loaded firearm in public, possessing a controlled substance for sale, possessing a controlled substance while carrying a firearm and possession of a large capacity magazine. Carlos Gonzalez was arrested for possessing the air tank suspected of containing nitrous oxide. Both males were later released from custody with a notice to appear in court due to the County of Los Angeles’s emergency “Zero Dollar” bail schedule.
