CITY OF GLENDALE ANNOUNCES 3rd ROUND OF
RECOVERY GRANTS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Glendale, CA –To help aid in the recovery of local small businesses, the City of Glendale has awarded over $1.7M to small businesses to date, and has approved the allocation of an additional $175,000 in funding to help more businesses bounce back from the economic impacts of COVID-19. Business owners may apply for $5,000 grants during Round 3 of the Small Business Grant Program. This funding is in addition to the $2.8 million in federal and local assistance that was approved in 2020.

Round 3 consists of two types of grants with a total of $1.2M+ funds to be distributed via the $5,000 grants. Businesses may only apply for one or the other, and those that received a grant from Round 1 or 2 are not eligible. The application periods for the two grant programs will be staggered through the month of June as follows:

June 1, 12:00 PM to June 11, 2021 at 12:00 PM – Low Income Small Business Grant

This grant will assist restaurants and small non-essential businesses with operating expenses. Businesses must employ low-income individuals and have no more than 25 employees, and be in operation for a minimum of one year. This round is open to both brick and mortar businesses (located in a commercial property) and to home-based businesses that have not received any Federal pandemic funding. This grant is funded through the CARES Act.

June 15, 12:00 PM to June 25, 2021 at 12:00 PM – Small Business Recovery Grant

This grant will assist small businesses with operating expenses. Businesses must be in operation for a minimum of 6 months and provide employment to 500 or fewer individuals. This round is open to both brick and mortar businesses (located in a commercial property) and to home-based businesses. Non-profits, including houses of worship, are eligible to apply for this grant. Businesses who previously received federal pandemic funding are eligible to apply. This grant is funded through Measure S.

Eligible applicants will be selected through a lottery process and the results will be announced on July 14, 2021.
