City of Glendale Launches OTT Streaming Service
Glendale, CA— The City of Glendale's public access channel, GTV6, is changing its name. GTV has always been an abbreviation for Glendale TV, and, in the beginning, the channel was only available on Spectrum Cable, channel 6. Over the years, the channel and its content have become available on other platforms, making the name change more fitting to the station's core identity and accessibility. GTV6 is now Glendale TV or GTV for short. The channel is still available on Spectrum Cable, channel 6, AT&T U-Verse, channel 99, and streaming live in high definition (HD) on the city's webpage, glendaleca.gov. In addition, the programming, including city meetings, special events, informative videos, and public service announcements, are available on YouTube.com/myglendale.
The City of Glendale is proud to announce that Glendale TV is also now available to view live in HD on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices! Glendale TV is accessible on these streaming devices by adding a free app called Screenweave and choosing "Glendale TV" from the menu. The app automatically recommends the station located closest to the viewer when the app is first used, and the viewer's preferred station is remembered for subsequent app sessions. Screenweave apps are currently available on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV devices. Screenweave apps will soon be available for Android TV devices, as well as Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
