Proactive Policing Leads to Arrest of Male for Drug Sales and Outstanding Warrant

On August 27, 2021 just after 7:00 p.m., officers assigned to Glendale Police Department’s patrol bureau noticed a male (later identified as 31-year-old Orbel Sokzi of Glendale) leaning against vehicle parked on the 1000 block of S. Brand Blvd.  Utilizing departmental resources, the officers learned that the registered owner of the vehicle (Sokzi) had a non-local warrant out for his arrest.

The officers contacted Sokzi, and a subsequent search revealed a zip lock baggie containing methamphetamine and a large amount of cash in various denominations on his person.  A search of the vehicle produced two cell phones.

Sokzi was arrested for possessing a controlled substance for sale and the non-local warrant.  Due to LA County’s emergency “Zero-Dollar” bail order, Sokzi was cited out with a notice to appear in court on a later date.
