Male with Prior Felony Conviction Arrested for Carrying a Concealed Firearm

On September 15, 2021 just after 5:00 p.m., officers assigned to Glendale Police Department’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The officers learned that the vehicle’s registration was expired and subsequently conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Riverdale Dr. and Central Ave.

The officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle, and upon approaching the vehicle they noticed two opened bottles of alcohol in the center console.

The driver, 32-year-old German Garcia of Los Angeles, stated that there was a gun under the driver’s seat. A search of the vehicle produced a loaded revolver and numerous marijuana related products.

During the investigation, officers learned that Garcia had previously been convicted of a felony.

Garcia was arrested and booked for being an ex-felon with a firearm and for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle with a prior felony conviction. Garcia’s bail was set for $35,000.
