Two Males in Possession of Over 1,000 Oxycodone Pills Arrested

On September 27, 2021 just before midnight, Glendale Police officers on patrol responded to the 2000 block of Bel Aire Dr. regarding a burglary in progress.  Officers were informed that a male had attempted to gain entrance into a vehicle and then fled on foot toward another vehicle.  Upon arrival, the officers located a vehicle matching a suspect vehicle description they were given.

The officers approached the vehicle and noticed that it was occupied by two males, 27-year-old Salim Aywaz of Burbank in the driver’s seat, and 23-year-old Andre Azoian of Glendale in the passenger seat.  While speaking with Aywaz and Azoian, the officers noticed a plastic straw with a burnt end.  A search of the vehicle produced over 1000 Oxycodone pills, nearly 200 Xanax pills, to baggies of methamphetamine, two baggies of fentanyl several methamphetamine pipes, bongs, and paperclips with burnt heroin residue, and multiple dime sized baggies.

Aywaz and Azoian were arrested and booked for possessing narcotics and controlled substances for sale and for possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.  Due to LA County’s “Zero-Dollar” bail order, both Aywaz and Azoian were released from custody with a notice to appear in court at a later date.
