Male Arrested for Possessing Narcotics and Controlled Substances for Sale

On October 5, 2021 just before 12:30 p.m., Glendale Police officers on patrol observed a male at a business on the 600 block of Broadway Ave. who was slumped over food with a motorcycle next to him.

Upon contacting the male, later identified as 36-year-old Pedro Gutierrez of Sun Valley, the officers learned that he was under the influence of heroin.

Gutierrez stated that a heroin “kit” was in a bag around his waist.  A search of Gutierrez produced a significant amount of heroin, methamphetamine, a large amount of batteries, a large sum of cash in various denominations, and a bag containing a syringe, spoons, lighters, a methamphetamine pipe, and individual baggies. 

Gutierrez was subsequently arrested for possessing narcotics and controlled substances for sale and for being under the influence of a controlled substance in public.  Due to LA County’s “Zero-Dollar” bail order, Gutierrez was released from custody with a notice to appear in court at a later date.
