Male Arrested Three Times in Two Days

On October 17, 2021, at approximately 4:32 p.m., Glendale PD officers responded to a residence on the 1600 block of W Kenneth Rd regarding a male, later identified as 69-year-old Billy Canterbury of Lancaster, who had knocked on the door and asked the resident if they lived at the location. Officers arrived on scene and contacted Canterbury near the residence. Canterbury (who was not known to the occupants of the residence) was advised to leave the property and not return.

At approximately 5:19 p.m., the Glendale Police Department responded back to the same residence for a report that Canterbury had returned to the location, climbed over a locked gate and was now in the backyard of the location. Upon arrival, officers located and detained Canterbury in the backyard of the residence. Canterbury was subsequently arrested and booked for prowling. Due to Los Angeles County’s “Zero-Dollar” bail schedule, Canterbury was released from custody with a notice to appear in court three hours after being booked.

At 12:54 a.m., approximately three hours after Canterbury was released from custody, Glendale PD officers responded to a vacant apartment unit on the 700 block of E Doran St regarding a male who was potentially breaking into the location. Upon arrival, officers located and detained Canterbury to the rear of the apartment building. Further investigation revealed that Canterbury had broken a window to a vacant apartment unit at the location, threw some personal items into the unit (including his wallet) and was attempting to make entry into the location. Canterbury was arrested and booked for trespassing and vandalism.

It was later discovered that Canterbury had also been arrested, booked and released from custody for trespassing in the City of Burbank on October 16, 2021.
