Driver Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

On October 30, 2021 at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers assigned to Glendale Police Department’s patrol bureau were dispatched to the intersection of Glendale Ave. and Wilson Ave. regarding a traffic collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, the driver had fled the scene and officers located the pedestrian still in the roadway with severe injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Kenwood St. and Wilson Ave. regarding another traffic collision between two vehicles. The driver had fled the scene on foot.

Responding officers located 19-year-old Harold Richardson in Elk Grove near the intersection of Doran St. and Jackson St. and were able to positively identify him as the suspect involved in both the traffic collision involving the pedestrian and the traffic collision involving another vehicle.

Richardson was subsequently arrested and booked for felony hit and run and for driving under the influence.
