Male Arrested for Identity Theft and Possessing Controlled Substance

On November 17, 2021 at approximately 11:30 a.m., an officer located an occupied vehicle with false registration tabs in a parking lot on the 200 block of S. Central Ave.

The officer contacted the individual in the driver’s seat, identified as 36-year-old Jose Rios of Los Angeles. While speaking with Rios, the officer observed a bag of methamphetamine in the door handle of the vehicle.

Assisting units arrived, and a search of the vehicle produced a counterfeit social security card, a credit card belonging to someone else, and several pieces of mail belonging to over 17 different individuals.

Rios was subsequently arrested and booked for identity theft, forging an official seal, and possessing a controlled substance.
