Four Arrested in Stolen Vehicle on Narcotics and Weapons Charges

On January 27, 2022 just after 4:30 a.m., a GPD officer on patrol located a stolen vehicle travelling near the 1100 block of N. Verdugo Rd. Assisting units arrived and a felony traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle had four occupants, the driver, 37-year-old Jose Reyes-Borras (transient), front passenger, 34-year-old Nancy Calderon (transient), and rear passengers, 33-year-old Jose Nieto-Diaz of Laguna Niguel, and 24-year-old Jasniel Moreno of Los Angeles. A vehicle search produced a loaded firearm on the rear floor board, methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe in a backpack near where Calderon was seated, and several tools including a sawzall and 12 reciprocating blades. Ultimately, Reyes-Borras (who was found to be in possession of a window punch) was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, grand theft, and possessing burglary tools. Calderon was arrested and booked for grand theft and possessing a controlled substance. Nieto-Diaz was arrested and booked for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and grand theft. Moreno was arrested and booked for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and grand theft.
