Male Arrested in Felony Hit and Run

On October 1, 2021 at just after midnight, Glendale PD received multiple 911 emergency calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 1700 block of E Chevy Chase Dr. Witnesses reported that the suspect vehicle was a silver Kia Sedan.

Glendale Police officers responded to a pedestrian struck and critically injured by a silver Kia. Parts on the scene from the suspect vehicle belonged to a 2019-2020 Kia Forte. The victim was crossing Chevy Chase Dr. at Glenmore Av in an unmarked crosswalk suddenly struck by the suspect vehicle traveling s/b on Chevy Chase Dr. The victim’s body was thrown / carried by the vehicle almost 250 feet and was subsequently transported to LA County USC Hospital where he remained in critical condition.

After months of investigations, Glendale PD’s Traffic Investigators were able to identify the vehicle and suspect.

On January 27, 2022, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of 19-year-old Frunzik Sargsyan of North Hollywood.

On February 3, 2022, members of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Sargsyan in a stolen vehicle. Sargsyan was arrested for felony hit and run and booked into the GPD jail, where he later bonded out on his $75,000.00 bail.

The victim underwent multiple surgeries, and after several months of rehab, has been released and continues to receive physical therapy.

The vehicle involved had since been repaired and was last seen crossing into Mexico on November 1, 2021 and has yet to be located. This case will be presented to the LA County DA’s Office for filing along with two other cases for felony evading Sargsyan was previously arrested on. The California Highway Patrol is handling the stolen vehicle investigation.
