Male Booked on Multiple Felony Sex Crime Charges

On November 21, 2021 The Glendale Police Department received a phone call from a victim who currently resided in North Carolina. The victim spoke with a patrol officer and relayed seven years of sexual abuse committed by her stepfather, later identified as 60-year-old Faustino Moreno of Los Angeles, while she was between the ages of 5-12. This abuse occurred while they lived together in the City of Glendale between 2004 – 2011.

Glendale Police Detectives made contact with the victim and began communicating with Detectives from the Monroe Police Department in North Carolina. Together, Glendale Police Detectives and Monroe Police Detectives came up with a plan to coordinate a pre-text call between the victim and Moreno from the Monroe Police Department. During this call, Moreno admitted to years of abuse as he spoke to the victim.

After this call, Glendale Police Detectives located Moreno at his residence in the City of Los Angeles. Detectives obtained a complete confession from Moreno, which was made possible by the recording of his admission to the victim. Moreno was arrested and booked on multiple felony sex crime charges, the case was filed with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and a judge set Moreno’s bail at $4 million dollars.
