 Two Arrested for Vehicle Theft

On March 16, 2022 at approximately 1:15 p.m., an officer assigned to Glendale PD’s patrol bureau located a stolen vehicle in a parking lot on the 800 block of N. Pacific Ave.  Assisting units arrived, and officers could see a methamphetamine pipe and narcotics in plain view.  Two males, later identified as 27-year-old Xavier Kennedy of North Hollywood and 32-year-old William Pineda (transient) walked out of the business and approached the vehicle.  Kennedy and Pineda were detained while officers conducted a vehicle search.  Inside of the vehicle, officers located several cell phones, a key to another vehicle, marijuana, methamphetamine, miscellaneous jewelry and tools including a pry tool and bolt cutters, and several other miscellaneous items.  Ultimately, Kennedy was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, possessing burglary tools, and for violating the terms of his probation.  Pineda was arrested and booked for vehicle theft.
