Four Stolen Vehicles Recovered; Five Arrested

On April 10, 2022 just before 3:00 p.m., a Glendale PD officer on patrol located a stolen vehicle parked near the intersection of Cypress Ave. and San Fernando Rd. A male, identified as 51-year-old Mohamed Najar of Beverly Hills, was seated inside of the vehicle. Assisting units arrived, Najar was ultimately arrested and booked for grand theft auto.

On April 20, 2022 just after 1:00 a.m., a GPD patrol officer located a stolen vehicle travelling near the intersection of Colorado St. and Chevy Chase Dr. Assisting units arrived, and the officers conducted a felony traffic stop. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, 42-year-old Michael Seymour of San Diego, and passenger, 29-year-old Elizabeth Hernandez of San Diego. A vehicle search produced a wallet containing counterfeit money and a credit card belonging to another individual, a container of methamphetamine, a bottle containing 25 pills, four cell phones, and a piece of paper containing personal identifying information of other individuals. Officers discovered a baggie of Fentanyl on his person. Seymour was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, identity theft, possessing narcotics and controlled substances, possessing counterfeit money, and for driving with a suspended license. Hernandez was arrested for possessing a controlled substance, and released at the scene with a notice to appear in court at a later date.

On April 25, 2022 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Glendale PD officers responded to a rental car business on the 1500 block of S. Brand Blvd. regarding a theft in progress. While enroute, officers were informed that a male suspect was seen entering various vehicles in the vicinity. Upon arrival, officers located a male matching the suspect description provided inside of a vehicle with the engine running and reverse lights on. Officers ordered the male, identified as 30-year-old Jesse Larios of Los Angeles, to exit the vehicle. During the investigation, officers learned that Larios was on active probation. Larios was discovered to be in possession of four vehicle keys. A search of Larios’ backpack produced a sawzall, four sawzall blades, numerous other tools, and one fuel card from the vehicle rental location. Larios was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, burglary, grand theft auto, tampering with a vehicle, and possessing burglary tools.

On April 26, 2022 at approximately 12:30 a.m., a Glendale PD sergeant pulled into a gas station on the 2900 block of W. Broadway when they were contacted by a male who was already in the area. During the conversation, the sergeant learned that the male, later identified as 27-year-old Raul Solis of Glendale, was on post release community supervision (PRCS). The sergeant performed a PRCS compliance check, and assisting units arrived. During the investigation, officers learned that the vehicle Solis had arrived at the location in had been reported as stolen. A vehicle search produced a second license plate was discovered to be stolen, a cigarette box containing a baggie of methamphetamine, and several hypodermic needles. Solis was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, receiving known stolen property, possessing a controlled substance, and for violating the terms of his PRCS.
