Male Arrested for Identity Theft and Outstanding Warrant

On June 23, 2022 at approximately 4:45 a.m., a Glendale PD patrol officer observed a male laying on a sidewalk near the intersection of Brand Blvd. and Palmer Ave. with an elongated glass pipe and a torch on the ground next to him. The officer contacted the male, identified as 35-year-old Dexter Byrd (transient) and discovered that he was on active probation and had an outstanding felony warrant out for his arrest. A search of Byrd produced a four-inch knife and several debit/credit cards and gift cards belonging to other individuals. Byrd was subsequently arrested for identity theft and for his outstanding warrant.
