ELECTRIC LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT WORKSHOP AND DEMONSTRATION RETURNS

Get ready for Glendale’s gas-powered leaf blower ban and transition to zero emission alternatives.

Glendale, CA  In September 2024, the City of Glendale will start enforcement of its gas-powered leaf blower prohibition. This new ordinance prohibits the use of gas-powered leaf blowers and holds homeowners and property owners responsible for compliance. To help residents, landscapers, and businesses, comply and transition to zero-emission landscaping alternatives, the Office of Sustainability is hosting an event with the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) to showcase electric landscaping equipment with professionals.

What: Electric Landscaping Equipment Workshop and Demonstration
When: Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd. Glendale, CA 91208

Electric landscaping equipment manufacturers and landscaping professionals will be available for attendees to test equipment and learn about zero-emissions landscaping. Staff will also be available to answer questions about the ordinances and obtaining rebates. Currently, rebates for the purchase of electric landscaping equipment, including electric leaf blowers, are available for landscapers through the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Residents and businesses can also receive a rebate for electric leaf blowers through Glendale Water and Power.

For more information on the gas-powered leaf blower prohibition and the event, visit GlendaleCA.gov/LeafBlower.

Questions about the ordinance and event can be submitted at Sustainability@GlendaleCA.gov.
