Glendale’s Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafes Are Back for the Next Year!
GLENDALE, CA – After much community demand and participation, the City of Glendale’s Office of Sustainability and Glendale Library, Arts, & Culture are happy to announce that the Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafés will be coming to a Glendale Library near you!
Clothing Swaps are a great opportunity for community members to donate items, which are collected, sorted, and displayed for participants to freely take. Repair Cafés are where skilled volunteers fix, tinker, and repair items from clothing holes to dull knives, broken lamps and beyond for free. In the first year of the Clothing Swaps and Repair Cafés, over 1,000 lbs. of textiles and clothes were diverted from landfill, over 250 items were repaired, and over 500 community attendees and volunteers participated.
