Virtual TNO 9_10_2020Virtual Teen Night Out Presents:

"What to Look for in Suicidal Teens"

On Thursday, September, 10, 2020, the Youth & Family Services Section will present, “What To Look For In Suicidal Teens” with a virtual Teen Night Out (TNO) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Dr. Ilin Magran, with the Glendale Unified School District will describe what signs to look for that indicate a teen is considering suicide. Learning more about what might lead a teen to suicide may help prevent further tragedies. Even though it's not always preventable, it's always a good idea to be informed and take action to help a troubled teenager.  Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15- to 24-year-olds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), after accidents and homicide. It's also thought that at least 25 attempts are made for every completed teen suicide. During the presentation, concepts and tips will be shared on how to better assist a suicidal teen without pushing them away.

Teen volunteers will be able to receive volunteer hours for attending the virtual Teen Night Out meeting. Teens interested in attending our virtual TNO meetings should email John Maghaguian at jmaghaguian@glendaleca.gov or call (818) 937-7247. Follow us on Instagram @myglendaleteens.
