Male Arrested and Booked for Felony Evading

On August 25, 2022, just before 11:00 p.m., a Glendale PD patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling over 100 miles per hour along the Ventura Freeway.  The officer observed the driver make several lane changes at unsafe speeds and initiated a traffic enforcement stop.  The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Brian Garcia of Los Angeles, then turned off his headlights and taillights and failed to yield, initiating a vehicle pursuit.  Garcia ultimately exited the freeway at the San Fernando Rd. exit and continued travelling at high speeds until he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a center divider guard rail.  California Highway Patrol officers met GPD officers at the site of the collision.  Garcia then reversed his vehicle into a Glendale PD patrol vehicle and again attempted to flee, but could not accelerate enough and stopped on Fairmont Ave.  Garcia was arrested and booked for felony evading.
