In 1993, the Fire Department established the program known as the Used Oil Curbside Collection Program. The program continues to this day collecting used oil from resident’s homes on the second Thursday of the month.

Residents of Glendale are encouraged to dispose of their oil and oil filters either during the household hazardous waste collection program or by calling 818.548.3227 for a free pick-up appointment to be scheduled for the second Thursday between 9am and 3pm.

How to prepare for oil pick up:

  • Pour the used oil into a clean container with a tight fitting cap (or a 2 ½ gallon container is provided by the FPB).

  • Do not mix the recovered oil with any other liquid. Make sure oil is free from dirt, leaves, and other debris.

  • Call and schedule a pick up.

  • Place the oil container in your from porch or driveway, away from traffic. Up to 10 gallons of used oil will be accepted.
