Recycling Resources for Schools

The City shares the commitment and concern of our educators when it comes to teaching the importance of recycling to the next generation. We also believe that children are some of our best recycling advocates! You will find resources below to help integrate recycling and composting education into the classroom and engage students in conscientious and positive environmental action.

City-supported school programs:

• Mr. Eco: This is an educational virtual experience where Mr. Eco performs an amazing show that teaches kids about Recycling and Litter.
• Discovery Cube: 5th and 6th graders get to virtually experience the Eco Challenge and other STEM/Environmental Exhibits.
• Request a free compost bin: Glendale teachers are eligible for one free compost bin to be used in the classroom (while supplies last).
• LA County's Environmental Defenders Program: A 30-minute virtual program free to all elementary schools in L.A. County. It covers the four R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rethink, and about Stormwater, Pollution Prevention, Proper Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste, and Water Conservation.
