On December 10, 2019, the City of Glendale adopted Ordinance No. 5941 establishing regulations governing the rental of residential property for thirty (30) consecutive days or less within the City of Glendale.  These regulations will allow limited home-sharing, where a host lives on site during a guest’s stay, and prohibits vacation rentals, where no host lives on site.  These regulations will help maintain adequate and affordable housing stock for residents in accordance with the City’s Housing Element of the General Plan, and ensure that home-sharing does not become a nuisance or threaten the public health safety or welfare due to excessive noise, disorderly conduct, overcrowding, traffic congestion, illegal parking, the accumulation of refuse, and other impacts related to home-sharing and vacation rentals.

NOTE: Existing vacation rentals are subject to amortization period set forth in the Glendale Municipal Code 30.60.030(O), that requires any existing vacation rental to terminate and any existing home-sharing use to obtain the required City Home-Sharing license on or before May 31, 2020.
