At nearly 3,000 gross acres, South Glendale is a large and diverse area. The South Glendale Community Plan (SGCP) subdivides the South Glendale area into 44 planning areas across three categories:  

Centers
Centers are areas with concentrated development which may be based on a centralized location with varied land uses or clustered around a single major use such as a hospital or studio.

Corridors
Corridors provide for the planning of linear tracts of land as opportunities to coordinate building development, transportation, and greenway connections.

Neighborhoods
Glendale’s residential neighborhoods range from low density/open space areas filled with single-family homes in hillside areas to high-density, multi-story apartments and condominiums surrounding Glendale’s downtown.
